UPCOMING GOLF EVENTS
2010 Club Championships (Stroke Play) - Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 March 2010
This, the second Annual Stroke Play Club Championships, is open to LPGC Members only to with an official handicap.
This two-round gross stroke play event will be held over two days. Based on your handicap, all entrants will be placed into divisions. All divisions will then play gross stroke play over 36 holes, with the champions being the players with the lowest gross combined score.

Entry fee is 2,200THB and includes caddy fees for the two days of play, prizes and a presentation dinner on Sunday 28 March.
Entry forms and conditions of entry are available at the Pro Shop, or please email Khun Passakorn at passakornr@lagunaphuket.com to have a copy sent to you. Tee times will be informed via email directly to the participants. Entries close on Wednesday 24 March at 4pm.
LPGC Wednesday Challenge
The Wednesday Challenge is a 9-hole fun event followed by some light snacks and presentations. Following a three week break for the peak season over the New Year holidays, this event will now continue to run through until the end of March. Open to all golfers with a handicap. The 550THB entry fee includes caddy fee, after event snacks and prizes. The sign up sheet will be located in the Pro Shop, with payment required on the day of play. Advanced Booking is required. Also note, if less than 12 players are booked for a week's event, that event will be cancelled. |
EVENT REPORT
2009 Match Play Championship
During September 2009, 28 members started the "Round Robin" stage of the 2009 Match Play Championship. This continued until mid December by which time only two men and two ladies were left to play the final. The stage was set on 19 December for Jeremy Stokes and Keith Brooks to battle it out for the men's title and Pim Hamilton and Parichart Namchoo for the ladies.
Both matches were well fought with Keith Brooks taking out the men's title with 4 up win over Jeremy Stokes and Parichart Namchoo winning the ladies' championship with a thrilling 1 up victory over Pim Hamilton.

MEMBERS' COCKTAIL - Saturday 13 March 2010

TENNIS ANYONE?

Wednesday night friendly matches
Some of the clubs' prominent tennis enthusiasts are keen to get a weekly tennis game going on Wednesday evenings and have asked that we put out the message to all of our members residing locally to seek expressions of interest. The games would be every Wednesday, starting around 6pm if enough players could be found.
Interested persons can drop an email to me at timh@lagunaphuket.com along with their telephone number. This will be given to the organiser who will provide further details in due course. |

DIRECTOR OF GOLF CORNER
There has been a lot happening around the Club over the last few months with the Match Play Championship concluding in December followed by the busy peak season over the Christmas - New Year break and the recently -concluded Chinese New Year period. I would like to take this opportunity to say how nice it was to see all of our returning members who visit us annually over those periods, and I hope you all enjoyed your break.
Events wise, we are now gearing up for the Members' Cocktail and the Stroke Play Club Championships, which will take place on the 13 and 27/28 March respectively. Please see the write-ups above for details of these events. Also, we also hope too once again play host to the ESPN Star Sports Charity golf day in the third week of May. We are currently confirming the exact dates and will let you know in due course.
